Preschool Director

Supervises: Preschool Family Services Staff
Job Summary: Oversee all programming of the Polk County Schools Preschool Program. Manage all aspects of the Polk County Schools Preschool Program including overall case management, fiscal management, administrative and service delivery components. Assist with overall program planning and direction.
Essential Functions:
- Supervise present support staff (Family Services, Education Manager, and Support Coach.
- Assist in the development of adequate time lines, work plans, procedures, forms and other management tools to ensure that these programs fulfill the mission, goals, and objectives of the Preschool Program.
- Ensure that files, records, reports, and other requirements of the funding sources for the preschool programs are executed and maintained.
- Oversee budget reports and finances. Approves all expenditures.
- Pursue funding opportunities through grants, fundraising, and re-funding proposals.
- Oversees NCDEE Program license compliance.
- Assist in implementing a monitoring process for the overall program that ensures specific program objectives and activities are completed in a timely manner, including an annual program self-assessment.
- Oversee recruitment activity and enrollment of children in all aspects of programming.
- Ensure that all employees are fully trained and regularly in serviced regarding job responsibilities and information related to the employees’ professional development.
- Attend and participate in regular staff meetings, management meetings, and other training activities.
- Serve as a liaison to collaborating groups, agencies, and the community.
- Abide by all Polk County Schools policies.
Other Functions:
- Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.
Education, Experience and Skills required:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- Experience in Supervision of staff, fiscal management, and administration.
- Must possess strong managerial skills, public speaking skills, good interpersonal, skills, communication and organizational skills.
Terms of Employment: 12 months – Coordinator’s Salary Scale
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Administrative Personnel and goals established by the Superintendent.
Environmental Factors:
Working conditions with some disagreeable factors present such as necessarily poor ventilation, uneven temperature, possibility of damage to clothing, or involves such fatigue producing factors as continued standing, extensive walking, constant close attention, or monotonous repetitive tasks.
