Job Summary
We are seeking a Front Desk Staff to serve as the welcoming face of the Polk County Historical Society. In this role, you will be responsible for opening and closing the museum during our open hours of 12:00 - 4:00 PM. We are open year-round Wednesdays - Fridays and Saturdays between Memorial Day weekend and Labor Day weekend. The front desk staff will work Saturdays in the summers and weekdays throughout the year when the Director is out. This will be highly dependent on the Director's scheduling, therefore will work best for someone who has a very flexible schedule. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your people skills and to learn more about Polk County's rich history.
Duties
- Greet visitors and clients warmly, ensuring a positive first impression
- Answer phone systems promptly and professionally, practicing proper phone etiquette
- Manage front desk activities, including scavenger hunts and children's activities
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area to promote a welcoming environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience working independently
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle phone reception and phone systems confidently
- Previous front desk experience is advantageous
- Knowledge of area history a plus
Pay: $20.00 per hour
