What are the responsibilities and job description for the Congressional, Energy Reporter, E&E News position at POLITICO?

E&E News is in search of a reporter to cover energy policy and politics on and off Capitol Hill.

If you’re a versatile reporter who loves being at the heat of the action and working with a tight-knit team, you’ll love this job.

You’ll write short, sharp daily stories and then take step back to offer perspective for our knowledgeable and well-connected readers. You’ll also have many opportunities to profile players on the Hill and to travel to get a first-hand look at how all the legislative jousting in Washington affects people and natural resources across the country.

Teamwork is critical at E&E News where 70 or so journalists are chasing environment and energy stories every day.

You’ll be part of a crack five-reporter Hill team and coordinate with other reporters across our newsroom to cover developments at the White House, federal agencies and the world beyond the Beltway.

What You'll Need:

  • Clips showing both breaking news and feature-writing ability, and a track record delivering scoops.
  • A deep understanding of the political and policy process and interest in the energy sector.
  • Experience covering Congress and federal agencies is a plus.
