About the Role

Toy Box Brands is a growing, small-sized company behind Polite Society, our clean cosmetics line, and Diamond Drunk, our non-toxic jewelry care brand. We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Production Director to oversee the end-to-end production process—from post-formulation through delivery to our third-party warehouse.

This role is critical in ensuring product quality, timeline adherence, and seamless coordination with third-party manufacturers (TPMs). The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and brings both operational rigor and strong alignment with our team culture.

Key Responsibilities

Production Oversight

  • Manage the production lifecycle with TPM partners in close collaboration with cross-functional partners
  • Monitor production schedules, timelines, and capacity planning to ensure on-time fulfillment
  • Proactively identify and partner cross-functionally to resolve production delays, quality issues, or supply constraints

Vendor & TPM Management

  • Serve as a key point of contact for third-party manufacturers and vendors, supporting replenishment activities and ensuring smooth day-to-day execution across production and supply chain workflows
  • Maintain strong, accountable relationships with production partners
  • Ensure TPM adherence to quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet regulatory, safety, and brand standards prior to shipment
  • Oversee batch tracking, documentation, and production records

Logistics Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth handoff to the third-party warehouse
  • Track shipments, resolve logistics issues, and maintain accurate inventory reporting

Systems & Data Management (NetSuite)

  • Manage production-related data and workflows within NetSuite
  • Create and manage purchase orders (POs) for production runs and materials
  • Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure accuracy and alignment with production requirements
  • Ensure system data integrity across production, inventory, and vendor records

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Support budget planning related to production spend
  • Track and manage receipts, freight costs, and duties associated with production and inbound shipments

Process Optimization

  • Evaluate and improve production workflows, systems, and reporting
  • Develop and maintain production tracking tools and KPIs (primarily in Excel)
  • Drive efficiencies across manufacturing and supply chain processes

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance teams to align on timelines and deliverables
  • Support new product launches and scaling efforts

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or operations—preferably within the beauty, personal care, or CPG industry
  • Direct experience managing a production floor and/or working closely with third-party manufacturers (TPMs)
  • Strong understanding of production timelines, batch manufacturing, and quality control processes

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., data tracking, analysis, reporting)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite, including PO creation and BOM management, strongly preferred

Soft Skills & Attributes

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Clear and effective communicator, both internally and externally
  • Collaborative team player with a strong emphasis on cultural fit and positive team contribution
  • Comfortable working closely with founders and adapting to a dynamic, entrepreneurial setting
