Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix meats, seasonings, and ingredients according to established recipes and production schedules.
- Operate grinders, mixers, stuffers, and other sausage-making equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate batch records and labeling to ensure product traceability.
- Inspect ingredients and finished products for quality, consistency, and appearance.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety protocols (HACCP, USDA, GMP).
- Clean and sanitize work areas, tools, and equipment after each production run.
- Assist in loading, packaging, and labeling finished products for storage or shipment.
- Work as part of a team to meet daily production targets and minimize waste.
- Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a manufacturing/plant environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- May occasionally require evening, weekend, or holiday work to meet demands.
- Team player, willing to step in wherever needed in a small business setting, be creative, and suggest fresh and new ideas
Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in cold or refrigerated environments.
- Previous experience in sausage making, meat processing, or food production preferred.
- Knowledge of meat processing equipment and safe food handling practices.
- Basic math and record-keeping skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.29 - $21.00 per hour
