What are the responsibilities and job description for the Repeat Offender Analyst position at Police?
Position Summary
Identify repeat offenders committing the majority of crimes in the city and provide information on the offenders to police officers, detectives and the judicial system; and act as a liaison from the police department to the District Attorney's Office and the Court system as it relates to repeat offenders.
This is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug/alcohol testing.

Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements
Related education and experience may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in police science, criminology, law enforcement, legal studies, paralegal studies or a related field; and
Three (3) of research and/or data analysis experience.
Experience in criminal justice is preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.

- Modern office procedures, methods and equipment.
- Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and safety regulations

- Collect, analyze, and document complex statistical data.
- Respond to requests and inquiries from the granting agency, sworn and civilian APD employees, and the general public
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work including the general public
- Develop and maintain a computerized automated crime analysis system.
- Coordinate analysis support activities
- Perform statistical research and analysis
- Properly interpret tables, charts and graphs.
- Prepare clear and concise reports.
- Operate office equipment including computers and supporting word processing and spreadsheet applications
- Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing repeat offender activity analysis and research
