Job Summary
The Commissions Analyst drives the execution of commission plans by applying data from various firm applications, completing complex calculations, and maintaining accurate financial records. Key Responsibilities
- Commission Processing & Calculations: Calculate and process monthly, quarterly, and weekly commissions, bonuses, and incentives for sales personnel and brokers.
- Reconciliation & Auditing: Reconcile incoming commission statements from insurance carriers or investment partners with internal sales data to identify missing revenue or discrepancies.
- Data Accuracy & Maintenance: Review, upload, and enter commission data into CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and dedicated commissions software.
- Contract Interpretation: Implement commission plans by translating written agreements and producer contracts into accurate mathematical equations.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve inquiries from agents and producers regarding payment inconsistencies.
- Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc commission reports, statements, and dashboards for management and sales personnel.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, state regulations, and internal audit requirements (SOX compliance).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or Mathematics is preferred
- Experience: 2–4 years of experience in commission analysis, sales operations, or accounting/finance.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formula manipulation).
- Systems Experience: Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce) and specialized commission software (e.g., Xactly, Varicent, SAP Commissions, RPM Telco).
