Polaris Consulting Group, Inc. (PolarisGov) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and talented individual for the position of Information Security Specialist – Mid Level. This position is onsite within the National Capital Region (Vienna, VA and Washington, DC). The Information Security Specialist will provide technical expertise and support the protection, control, and accountability of classified information and information systems.

Security Requirements:
- Final Top Secret personnel security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Interim clearances will not be accepted.
- Serve as an Information Security subject matter expert providing technical expertise and interpreting security policy guidance
- Assist in developing and maintaining classified information security programs and procedures
- Monitor and ensure proper handling, storage, transmission, and destruction of classified information
- Review documents for proper classification markings, handling requirements, and declassification guidelines
- Maintain accountability of classified materials, records, and equipment
- Conduct inspections of security processes and identify deficiencies, providing recommendations for corrective action
- Support risk assessments, accreditation requirements, and vulnerability identification activities
- Assist in investigating incidents involving lost or compromised classified information
- Support implementation and compliance with Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements
- Provide guidance and training to personnel on information security policies and procedures
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives related to information security
- 3-5 years of specialized experience in the aforementioned areas of Information Security with increasing responsibility and complexity
- Hands-on experience in the Physical Security and Information Security disciplines (i.e. technical, physical, derivative classification, operational or signal security; counterintelligence; antiterrorism.
- Counterterrorism; counter-surveillance or surveillance detection; infrastructure protection; force protection; technology protection; industrial security programs; Emergency Management.
- Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP); Safety and Investigations programs)
- Experience maintaining accountability of classified document and equipment holdings
- Experience reviewing documents for appropriate markings, classification determinations, and declassification
- Working knowledge of implementing government security programs and policies
- Solid and proven written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with Controlled Unclassified Information requirements
- Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Intelligence Studies, or Security Management) preferred, or equivalent experience.
