Polar Field Services, Inc. is looking to hire a seasonal Trades Helper to help perform construction, maintenance, and repair work on the National Science Foundation-funded facilities at Raven Camp, Greenland. In addition, our international Trades Helpers can enroll in our Pro Deal Discount program and receive an hourly health and welfare benefit of $4.22/hour for the first 40 hours worked each week (included in the posted weekly salary). A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A GENERAL LABOR - TRADES HELPER

In this seasonal position, you lend a vital helping hand to the skilled tradesmen at our international facility in the Arctic. Every day, you are ready to jump right in and tackle anything requested of you. Under the guidance of our experienced team, you assist with a variety of important tasks, including clearing snow, groundwork, and construction. Efficient and safety-conscious, you help out with any carpentry, plumbing, and electrical duties that arise.

Nothing gets past you as you keep our facilities painted and insulated from the cold. Your workspace is always organized, clean, and hazard-free. Every shift brings new, exciting experiences as you drive trucks and polar vehicles out on the ice sheet. Organized and attentive to detail, you perform equipment and materials inventory checks as well as maintain accurate and thorough documentation of hours worked, tasks performed, materials used, and processes involved.

No matter the weather, your disposition remains sunny and work-ethic strong. A team player, you always attend safety meetings and morning pre-task stretching sessions. You also readily assist your team with all aspects of camp support, including cooking, equipment operation, digging, and camp construction. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A GENERAL LABOR - TRADES HELPER

• High school diploma OR equivalent
• 2 years of experience in general construction, maintenance, or farm and trail work
• Valid driver's license and United States passport
• Willingness to work outside on various job sites in extreme weather conditions

Experience with remote and cold or polar environments would be beneficial. Prior completion of accredited OSHA training courses would be a plus. Are you a team player? WORK SCHEDULE FOR A GENERAL LABOR - TRADES HELPER

This international position typically works 9-hour days, 6 days per week and enjoys Sunday off. Additional hours will occasionally be needed. The schedule can vary based on location, seasonal weather conditions, and work requirements.
