A Nights and Weekend Crew Member for a convenience store. Crew member will welcome guests, runs the cash register, stocks shelves, and keeps the store clean during high-traffic weekend and late-night hours.
Job Overview
- Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time (Hourly, Non-Exempt)
- Schedule: Mandatory night shifts evenings and weekend availability (Thursday through Sunday), occasonialy cover other shifts as needed
- Reports To: Store Manager / Shift Leader
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet every customer, operate the cash register, and process cash, credit, and lottery transactions accurately.
- Stocking and Merchandising: Restock shelves, face merchandise, and fill coolers and drink dispensers during slower late-night hours.
- Store Cleanliness: Sweep and mop floors, clean coffee and food service areas, empty trash cans, and maintain restrooms.
- Safety and Security: Monitor store security, check IDs for age-restricted sales (tobacco and alcohol), and follow safe cash-handling protocols.
- Independent Workflow: Complete end-of-shift checklists, inventory counts, and daily reporting with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Age: Must be at least 18 years old (or 21 if local laws require for specific product sales).
- Availability: Must be able to work flexible night hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8–9 hours) and lift up to 50 lbs (bending, stocking, and handling inventory).
- Basic Skills: Basic math skills to count change and reconcile cash drawers, plus clear communication skills.
- Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and comfortable working independently during late-night hours.
