What are the responsibilities and job description for the Back of House Team Member position at Poke House?
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure that each guest has a memorable experience by preparing Poke House menu items in a timely manner.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, equipment, and counters at all times.
- Follow Poke House checklists and guidelines to ensure that our kitchens are always properly stocked with inventory.
- Protect the guest by following all food safety standards.
- Foster a safe work environment by following safety and security standards.
- Follow all guidelines and procedures as outlined by Poke House.
- Complete any other tasks assigned from time to time by the Poke House management team.
- Be knowledgeable about menu items including ingredients and possible allergens.
- Maintain proper temperatures on all products complying with company food safety requirements as well as local health codes.
- Prepare required menu items following proper specifications, exact recipe steps and using proper measuring devices.
- Partner with management team on food quality & consistency.
- Complete required sidework duties & end of shift management checkouts.
- Clean required areas assigned by management.
- Supporting staff where needed.
- Maintain a neat, clean and safe work environment.
- Stock area with necessary menu items or equipment.
- Store food items complying with proper company labeling and storage requirements.
- Label, date and rotate using the First In First Out method (FIFO).
Poke House Requirements:
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of food and supplies which entails lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Open Availability. Ability to work variable hours/days, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Ability to successfully complete training program.
- Ability to follow all guidelines and procedures set forth by Poke House, local, state, and federal employment regulations.
Compliance
- Follow all company workplace safety requirements which may consist of but not limited to pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, floor maintenance, security, chemical use, cut prevention, burn prevention & strain prevention.
- Follow all company Food Safety Requirements.
- Participate in food safety and employee safety certification requirements.
- Take required meal and rest breaks as required by law.
- Bilingual preferred
