Pointman Safety is seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Safety Professional to support a full-time construction project in New Haven, CT. This assignment is expected to last several months, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent full-time position with Pointman Safety based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities- Perform daily construction site safety inspections and audits.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, client requirements, and company policies.
- Identify hazards and assist project teams in implementing corrective actions.
- Conduct toolbox talks and participate in daily safety meetings.
- Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task plans, and Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs).
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions as needed.
- Prepare professional inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Promote a proactive safety culture by working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and craft workers.
- Experience in construction safety, construction supervision, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and professionally on an active construction site.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction (required)
- CHST, GSP, CSP, or other safety certifications preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience with commercial construction projects, safety inspections, incident investigations, and safety documentation.
- Full-time position on a long-term construction project in New Haven, CT.
