The Role
We are seeking a dynamic, high-capacity Pastor with a calling to serve as our Worship & Technology Director. This role is designed for a gifted musician with a "heart for worship" who can lead a stage with excellence while managing the technical infrastructure that carries our message to our local and online congregations.
As a Worship Director at Pointe North, is going to need to be driven, highly organized, and relationship-focused – a natural leader.
In this position, perfection is not expected, but excellence is. This idea of excellence is to be modeled, taught, and reproduced through every team the Worship Director oversees. The ideal candidate is a developer of people who doesn’t just "do" ministry, but recruits, trains, and reproduces excellence in others.
Key Requirements
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in ministry, a master’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Faith & Alignment: A vibrant Christian faith and a commitment to becoming an active member of Pointe North Church.
- Musical Proficiency: Strong vocal talent with the ability to lead contemporary worship while playing an instrument (Guitar or Keys).
- Experience: Proven track record in coordinating and leading contemporary worship teams and vocalists.
- Technical Aptitude: * Software: Planning Center Online, ProPresenter, My Sermon Notes, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Hardware: Digital Sound Boards
- Availability: Full-time (40 hours/week), including Sundays, evenings and midweek rehearsals.
Core Responsibilities
1. Worship Leadership & Development
- Service Planning: Collaborate with the Lead Pastor and Worship Team to design and execute regular and special worship services.
- Musical Excellence: Lead worship for approximately 48 weeks per year, blending hymns with modern contemporary elements.
- Discipleship: Foster a biblical theology of worship within the team and the congregation.
- Team Building: Recruit, audition, and train instrumentalists and vocalists, actively encouraging the spiritual gifts of members across all generations.
- Rehearsals: Lead consistent midweek rehearsals to ensure musical and spiritual readiness.
2. Technology & Visual Communications
- Tech Oversight: Schedule and train volunteers for audio, video, and livestream production.
- Production: Manage weekly ProPresenter setups and ensure a consistent, high-quality "Pointe North Sound" for both in-person and online audiences.
- Creative Media: Develop sermon series visuals for web, social media, and in-service use.
- Digital Presence: Oversee and troubleshoot the Livestream, Podcast, and YouTube channels.
- Stewardship: Formulate and manage the departmental budget and develop long-term equipment replacement/upgrade plans.
3. Staff & Administrative Duties
- Collaboration: Participate in weekly staff meetings and report directly to the Lead Pastor.
- Leadership: Facilitate monthly Worship Team meetings and attend quarterly meetings with Ministers, Elders, and Deacons.
- Teamwork: Understands the mission, vision, and values of the Church and uses a joint problem solver approach to find solutions to cross-departmental problems.
