What is the job
Automotive service writer is to provide exceptional customer service to our guests while confidently recommending products and services for their vehicles.
Have automotive knowledge and product knowledge. The ability to learn about new products and to be able to confidently sell maintenance services, repairs, parts and tires.
Duties & Responsibilities
- First point of contact for customers in person and on the phone store. Responsible for engaging customers, scheduling appointments, building trust and rapport, understanding guest needs, communicating processes and timelines to guests and technicians. Selling parts, tires and services that make the customer's car run at peak efficiency. While adhering to Company Customer Care standards to meet guests expectations.
- Responsible for the organization and productivity of the service business through work order flow and Technician time management. Be means a high level of communication, proper scheduling, bids/estimations and thorough vehicle inspections.
- Effectively communicate with all associates, technicians, management, and customers. Listening to guests and interpreting and retaining information and applying knowledge appropriately to better assist technicians and guests for a positive result.
- Have the ability to use Alldata, Identifix, Automotive Point of Sales systems. Bid and estimate all suggested services. Ordering tires and parts from trusted vendors.
- Under the direction of Management, assists in meetings regarding various aspects of customer care improvement, work order audits, scheduling, vehicle inspections audits, safety items and facility maintenance.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to cash, credit, check, refund and return policies. Works with the management team to react to customer service issues, customer complaints.
- Conduct audits on every vehicle inspection done by technicians and participate in routine process evaluations and updates as needed.
- Have the ability to work with and communicate clearly with technicians on guest concerns, on repairs, maintenance services, parts and any other items relating to providing a high level of service to our guests and their vehicles all while maintaining profitability. This is Primary driving force behind our business and its success.
- Partner with Management to produce an enjoyable, safe and healthy work environment that complies with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Be a trusted key carrier responsible for basic and detailed opening/closing procedures and responsibilities.
- Maintain an organized and neat shop.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
