A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Buy-Side Credit Analyst to join a high-performing investment team based in New York. This is a front-office role focused on identifying and evaluating corporate credit investment opportunities across high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and broader credit markets within a dynamic multi-strategy platform.
This position offers direct exposure to experienced Portfolio Managers and the opportunity to contribute investment ideas, conduct in-depth fundamental research, and play a key role in portfolio construction and risk management. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative, fast-paced environment where rigorous analysis and differentiated thinking are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fundamental credit analysis across high yield bonds, leveraged loans, and corporate credit opportunities.
- Develop detailed financial models and investment frameworks to assess risk and return profiles.
- Identify, evaluate, and present investment opportunities to Portfolio Managers.
- Monitor existing portfolio positions and assess key risks, catalysts, and investment developments.
- Perform industry, issuer, and capital structure analysis across a broad range of sectors.
- Analyse market trends, credit fundamentals, and broader macro developments impacting investments.
- Conduct relative value analysis across issuers, sectors, and credit instruments.
- Work closely with Portfolio Managers and investment professionals to support portfolio construction and idea generation.
Requirements
- Approx. 3–8 years of experience within credit investing, credit research, leveraged finance, high yield, distressed debt, or buy-side investing.
- Strong understanding of corporate credit markets, leveraged loans, and capital structure analysis.
- Experience performing fundamental credit analysis and financial modelling.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate investment opportunities and communicate recommendations effectively.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skillset with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, front-office investment environment.
- Prior experience working directly with Portfolio Managers or investment teams is highly desirable.
