Position Summary
The Junior Business Development Advisor plays a critical role in generating new business by identifying, researching, and initiating contact with potential customers in the hospitality, design, and procurement sectors. This role is dedicated to uncovering new and active projects, engaging early with key decision-makers, and opening the door for the Sales Team to advance and close opportunities.
The Advisor maintains organized pipelines, conducts targeted industry and competitor research, and performs consistent, high-volume outreach to ensure Poggesi stays ahead of upcoming hospitality and commercial opportunities. This position requires exceptional organization, resilience, curiosity, and the ability to communicate confidently with diverse personalities.
Ultimately, this role acts as the engine of the sales pipeline, feeding high-quality, well-qualified opportunities that support the company’s growth in key markets.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting & Lead Generation
- Identify and research new hospitality, commercial, and large-scale design projects (early-stage opportunities).
- Reach out to architects, designers, procurement firms, developers, hotel groups, and other targeted decision-makers to introduce Poggesi and coordinate an initial meeting.
- Apply a deep understanding of Poggesi’s “bullseye customer” profile to prioritize outreach effectively.
- Monitor the market daily for active projects and initiate timely engagement.
- Qualify prospects and nurture first-touch relationships until ready for sales handoff.
Outreach & Communication
- Conduct high-volume outreach through calls, emails, LinkedIn messaging, and other communication channels.
- Log all activities in the CRM, including calls, emails, notes, next steps, and project status.
- Schedule introductory meetings, discovery calls, and site visits for the Sales Team.
- Adjust communication style based on customer type, personality, and industry role.
Project Research & Tracking
- Maintain an updated, organized chart of all major hospitality projects, including timelines, stakeholders, procurement paths, and status.
- Research industry news, competitive activity, hotel group expansions, design firm workloads, construction timelines, and FF&E procurement cycles.
- Understand the sales cycle variations within different customer types and adjust outreach timing accordingly.
Pipeline & Task Management
- Maintain a structured CRM pipeline of early-stage leads, new opportunities, and projects in development.
- Follow up consistently on all tasks and deadlines to prevent any opportunity from going stale.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high level of organization and accuracy.
- Collaborate with Sales Support for smooth transitions into quotes, project creation, or deeper qualification.
Product & Market Knowledge
- Learn Poggesi’s product lines, customization capabilities, pricing considerations, and competitive advantages.
- Maintain awareness of competitors’ offerings, pricing position, and target markets.
- Alert the Sales Manager of any competitive information you learn
- Understand Poggesi’s brand, design philosophy, and value proposition to communicate effectively with prospects.

Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in business development, sales development, inside sales, or lead generation (hospitality or design industry preferred but not required).
- Strong research skills and experience using CRM systems.
- Comfortable with outbound calling and email outreach.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
- Basic understanding of construction, design, or procurement workflows is a plus.
- Hospitality degree or background is a bonus.
