Experienced Litigation Paralegal

Poe Law, LLC is a litigation-focused personal injury and workers' compensation law firm representing individuals seriously injured throughout Maryland. We are known for aggressively advocating for our clients and routinely handling contested hearings, depositions, mediations, and jury trials. Our clients include police officers, firefighters, correctional officers, EMTs, paramedics, and other hardworking Marylanders who deserve exceptional legal representation.
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal who enjoys managing complex litigation, takes pride in producing high-quality work, and wants to play an integral role in preparing cases for trial. This position offers substantial responsibility, direct attorney interaction, meaningful courtroom exposure, and the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our clients.
This is a full-time position located in Dunkirk, Maryland.
Responsibilities
- Manage litigation files from suit through trial.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents.
- Prepare and organize deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial materials.
- Coordinate depositions, expert witnesses, mediations, hearings, and trial schedules.
- Review, organize, summarize, and index medical records, billing records, employment records, and other case documents.
- Maintain litigation calendars and ensure all court deadlines are met.
- Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation and courtroom logistics.
- Maintain organized electronic and physical case files.
- Perform other litigation support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three or more years of civil litigation paralegal experience strongly preferred.
- Personal injury and/or workers' compensation litigation experience is highly desirable.
- Thorough knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and filing deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong legal drafting, proofreading, and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and manage a busy caseload independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
