Job Overview:
Poe Asphalt is seeking a dependable and motivated Entry-Level Shop Hand to join our Lewiston shop team starting February 1, 2026.
This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, hardworking, and interested in supporting a busy mechanical and equipment maintenance environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist mechanics with basic tasks, including organizing tools, cleaning parts, and preparing equipment
- Perform general shop maintenance such as sweeping, organizing work areas, and ensuring the shop remains clean and safe
- Help with light repairs, oil changes, tire checks, and equipment inspections as trained
- Pick up and deliver parts using company vehicles when needed
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures
- Support the shop team with additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- No prior experience required — we will train the right person
- Strong work ethics and willingness to learn
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical labor throughout the shift
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Basic mechanical interest or aptitude is a plus
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
