HDP Shop Parts Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

The HDP Shop Parts Specialist’s key role is to service shop technicians with adequate parts necessary to complete jobs in the shop in a timely manner. Ordering parts necessary for completion of work orders. Assist in closing work orders accurately and timely. The position may assist with inside sales.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Develops and maintains knowledge of the company’s products and services

· Thrives in a fast-paced environment

· Effectively and accurately process technician parts orders and process into DSI system

· Builds and maintains relationships with shop technicians by providing appropriate support, accurate information and guidance

· Reaches out to vendors via phone, e-mail and social media

· Handles shop technicians concerns and timely resolves their issues in a professional manner

· Keep up to date on incoming orders and availability of parts for technicians work orders

· Communicate regularly with GM-PSHDP and Shop Forman on all work orders and parts availability and needs for shop technicians

· Monitor and follow through on brake shoe and transmission cores and credits

OTHER DUTIES

· Assist with inside sales as needed

· Assist with shipping and receiving as needed

• Must keep work area and truck clean.
• Assist in general cleaning.

· Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or GED certificate (preferred)
• Industry experience (preferred)
• Mechanical knowledge or repair experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Basic computer skills
• Customer service skills

· Strong teamwork, verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to identify and creatively solve problems related to technician needs

· Meticulous attention to detail is vital

· Standing and walking for extended periods

· While heavy lifting may not be a constant requirement, associates may need to lift and carry parts weighing up to 50 pounds or more, particularly when assisting with stocking or loading trucks.

· reach for parts on shelves, bend to retrieve items from lower areas, and potentially use ladders to access higher storage spaces.

· Tasks like using a computer, handling paperwork, and potentially operating a forklift (in some roles) can involve repetitive movements and sustained postures.

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
