Pocketbook Hudson is a new prototype of experiential hotels in Hudson, NY. Occupying a full city block just off Warren Street, the hotel complex resides in a fully restored historic mill factory built in 1883. Embracing its generous space and industrious history, the property hosts 46 guest rooms and suites, a bathhouse and spa, evening restaurant, all-day café, a flexible event space, and a nightclub for revelry.

Role Summary
The Retail Associate supports the Retail Manager in daily operations of the Pocketbook Market, Seedlings Co-Op, and partner-driven retail activations. This role helps maintain a welcoming, organized, and engaging retail environment that reflects Pocketbook Hudson’s brand ethos. The Retail Associate contributes to sales, merchandising, and guest experience, ensuring every interaction feels intentional, informed, and aligned with the Market’s creative and community-focused spirit.
The Specifics
- Support daily retail operations, including open and closing procedures, restocking, and maintaining store presentation.
- Deliver an elevated guest experience through, attentive service and deep product knowledge
- Maintain merchandising standards in collaboration with the Retail Manager to ensure displays reflect Pocketbook Hudson’s visual and conceptual direction
- Assist with receiving, tagging, and organizing new inventory, monitor stock levels and communicate needs promptly
- Operate the POS system accurately, process transactions, and handle cash and credit payments responsibly
- Support in setting up and maintaining pop-ups, events, and collaborations with vendors and artists
- Communicate guest and vendor feedback to the Retail Manager to improve operations and engagement.

- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or gallery settings preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently or as part of a small team
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with POS systems and inventory tracking software a plus
- Passion for thoughtful design, storytelling, and creating meaningful guest experiences
