Perform manual, skilled, and unskilled labor in the cleaning,
maintenance and repair of grounds and facilities at and around City
parks/facilities and on or adjacent to public rights-of-way. Performs
general construction, maintenance, and repairs to a wide array of City
buildings and infrastructure. This position requires applicants to be 16
years of age or older.
The job requires working knowledge of construction and landscape
techniques and general cleaning and janitorial methods. The job requires
the ability to utilize hand and power tools in a safe manner. The job
requires the ability to maintain a collaborative and cooperative working
relationship with elected and appointed officials, other City employees,
other organizations, and the general public. Individuals must be capable
of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.
The work environment will include inside conditions, outdoor weather
conditions, in wet and humid conditions, with areas of dust, odors,
mist, gases or other airborne matter. Employees work in/at places where
they are exposed to mechanical hazards. Employees will also drive a
vehicle as part of this position. This position works days, evenings,
and weekends as required.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
This position has three (3) possible levels to be hired on as. Each
level has its own skills, responsibilities, and rate of pay. Placement
is based on experience and will be discussed at the time of offer.
