Duties
- Oversee daily farm operations, including livestock management, equipment maintenance.
- Supervise farm staff, providing guidance on animal care, safety protocols, and operational procedures
- Manage the maintenance, repair, and operation of farm machinery such as tractors, livestock handling equipment, and heavy machinery
- Ensure compliance with safety standards in production and animal handling to promote a safe working environment
- Coordinate livestock health programs, including feeding schedules, veterinary care, and breeding activities
- Conduct regular inspections of farm facilities, equipment repairs (including welding and power tools), and manual handling tasks to ensure optimal functionality
- Implement sustainable farming practices aligned with environmental standards and growth objectives
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience in agricultural or farm settings with a focus on dairy operations
- Extensive knowledge of animal husbandry, livestock handling, and farm animal care practices
- Hands-on experience operating agricultural tractors, heavy equipment, forklifts, irrigation systems, and greenhouse tools
- Mechanical knowledge related to farm machinery repair and maintenance (including welding and power tools)
- Strong understanding of safety standards in agricultural production environments
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling safely while maintaining productivity
- Familiarity with horticulture or greenhouse operations is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills with basic math proficiency for inventory management and record keeping
- Outdoor work experience in varying weather conditions with a focus on animal welfare and crop management
