What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Retail Pharmacist-Contract/Temp position at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital?
PMH Pharmacy (retail pharmacy) is seeking a licensed Retail Pharmacist to provide full-time coverage for a 12-week leave. This role is responsible for ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing of medications while delivering excellent patient care and customer service in a retail pharmacy setting.
Key Responsibilities:
· Accurately fill and verify prescriptions in compliance with state and federal regulations
· Provide patient counseling on medications, including usage, side effects, and interactions
· Oversee pharmacy technicians and support staff
· Ensure compliance with all pharmacy laws, HIPAA, and company policies
· Manage inventory
o Daily replenishment from multiple wholesalers
o ordering and handling of controlled substances
o 340B account management (virtual inventory)
· Administer immunizations
· Resolve insurance issues and collaborate with prescribers as needed
· Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-focused pharmacy environment
Qualifications:
· Active Pharmacist license in West Virginia
· Previous retail pharmacy experience preferred
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Immunization certification
Schedule:
· Pharmacy is open Monday-Friday 8-6pm. Staff Pharmacist will work 4 x 10-hour shifts during the week. No weekends.
· Coverage needed for 12 consecutive weeks

· We are a hospital-owned retail pharmacy
· We utilize PioneerRX computer system
· RX volume is 3500-4000 RXs per month
Pay: $65.00 - $70.00 per hour
