This position combines teaching Physical Education as well as Health & Wellness and a Fall and Spring Sports Coaching role is attached (Football and Track). Key duties include developing and delivering age-appropriate PE and health programs, coaching athletes in sports like football and track & field, teaching proper techniques, providing nutrition and lifestyle advice, and fostering sportsmanship. The individual is responsible for student assessments, creating a safe and inclusive environment, and collaborating with staff to support student well-being.
Physical Education and Health & Wellness
- Curriculum and instruction: Develop and deliver a PE curriculum that teaches a variety of physical activities and fitness routines, aligned with state standards.
- Health education: Provide instruction on healthy lifestyles, including nutrition, proper exercise techniques, and safety rules.
- Student assessment: Assess, record, and report on student progress in both physical fitness and health knowledge.
- Inclusivity: Ensure all activities are suitable for students with diverse abilities and needs.
- Wellness coaching: Work with students to help them identify health goals, overcome obstacles, and stay motivated to achieve them.
Spring Sports Coach
- Practice and game planning: Plan, organize, and conduct practices and strategy sessions for spring sports.
- Athlete development: Analyze individual and team strengths and weaknesses and provide feedback to improve skills and techniques.
- Motivation and sportsmanship: Motivate students to perform to their potential and teach them about good sportsmanship.
