The RN-OR is responsible for direct patient care in a single operating room and local procedure rooms.
a) Participates as a team member in support of the total perioperative process
b) Assists with supply, drug, and equipment inventories to maintain stock level and availability
c) Addresses patient needs during admission to the operating room, with attention to requirements specific to the ASC setting
d) Transports patients to the operating room observing policies/ procedures, safety requirements, and patient needs
e) Identifies the patient and correct surgical intervention according to policy/ procedure and communicates such information to all members of the surgical team
f) Reviews patients’ medical records/ needs to plan care with other healthcare team members
g) All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
1. High school graduate or GED certificate recipient
2. Graduate of accredited school of nursing
3. RN with active license in appropriate state
4. At least 2 years previous operating room experience.
5. BLS/ACLS/PALS
6. Evidence of leadership qualities
7. Strong ethical and moral character references
8. Computer literacy
Preferred
1. ASC experience'
