Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting concerns promptly
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual preferences
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning resident areas and common spaces
- Support residents during social activities, outings, and community engagement to promote social well-being
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with mobility needs
- Document care provided accurately in compliance with facility policies and state regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer’s), memory care, autism support, and hospice care is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed for resident support
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and care plan implementation is desirable
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful and dignified care for all residents
