PNW Veg Co dba NORPAC is seeking applications for a Dock Laborer to join our warehouse team on-site in at our facility north of Salem, Oregon.

The Dock Laborer is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment, including dock areas and surrounding property. This role involves performing general housekeeping tasks, removing debris, supporting inventory accuracy, assisting warehouse staff, and reporting any facility or product damage. The Dock Laborer may also operate forklifts to support cleaning and material movement while ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Remove dirt, ice, debris from and maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse facility including dock areas and adjacent property.
  • Observe warehouse areas for damage to products or facility that need fixed or repaired and report to the appropriate person.
  • Completed general housekeeping tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records, which may require the need to count, add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, as well as compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs as required.
  • Assist drivers and general plant employees as needed, include placing and removing stacking aids from pallets.
  • Empty trash receptacles and recycle bins throughout the facility.
  • Maintain safe and sanitary work area.
  • Use forklift to move materials needed for cleaning the facility and maintain cleanliness.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by warehouse and plant leadership.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one situations with other employees and supervisor.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Math test may be required.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in situations involving a few variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, any shift, and some holidays.
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accountability and situational awareness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability and willingness to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Commitment to maintaining and promoting safety and food safety practices.

Work Environment: Regularly works in high, precarious places and regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Regularly exposed to chilled temperatures of -10 degrees F. Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, driving on rough terrain and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand; walk; use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hand and arms, and. Frequently required to talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 55 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands: Work requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, situational awareness, and spatial reasoning.

Work Schedule: Requires evening, weekend, and some holiday work, and extended hours.

Safety & Hazard Exposure: Strict adherence to safety protocols and PPE requirements is essential.

Pay: $19.63 - $20.69 per hour
