Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Shop Hand to support daily operations in our shop. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and is eager to learn and grow within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, load, and unload traffic control equipment including signs, cones, barricades,
• delineators, and message boards.
• Assist with staging and organizing equipment for daily deployments and pickups.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on traffic control devices (e.g.,
• checking lights, batteries, reflectivity).
• Clean, repair, and restock equipment to ensure readiness and compliance with MUTCD
• and agency standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory of traffic control assets and report damaged or missing
• items.
• Support field crews by assembling predetermined sign packages, organizing lane
• closure kits, and prepping specialty setups (e.g., flagging stations, detours).
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and company vehicles to move equipment within the yard or to job sites (as needed).
• Keep the shop and yard clean, organized, and compliant with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with supervisors and field staff to ensure timely and accurate deployment of traffic control setups.
• Other responsibilities, duties, and/or tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Valid Washington State Drivers License.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
• Working with power tools and saws for cutting metal and wood.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a shop, warehouse, or construction environment.
• Forklift certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
