JOB DESCRIPTION

Helper Class B 0-6 Month

Union $28.64 Per hour

DUTIES: Under general directive supervision of journeyman.

Receives oral assignments and instruction in performing various duties by assisting and accompanying journeyman on maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. Works around energized equipment.
Performs shop duties by cutting and bending conduit, dismantling and assembling motors and electrical equipment. Assists in construction of substation equipment.
Works in department dock area and may clean, paint, and store transformers.
Obtains tools and equipment from storeroom and delivers to working areas; assists journeyman as may be required.
Performs yardwork in substation areas by removing debris and trash. May drive vehicle to dump areas and discard debris.
Assists in installing cabinets, pulling wire through conduit, cement work, and painting as assigned.
Performs all duties in a safe manner and conforms with safety rules established by the Company; receives instruction in first aid, safety procedures, and practice; must have ability to administer first aid to injured persons.
Performs other related and assigned duties.
