What You’ll Do
As a Structural Engineer (EIT), you’ll work closely with experienced engineers and learn how to:
- Analyze structural loads and perform engineering calculations.
- Design waterfront and industrial structures such as:
- Gangways and trestles
- Marine terminals
- Harbors, marinas, and breakwaters
- Mooring and berthing structures
- Piers, wharves, and bulkheads
- Infrastructure for the energy and aerospace industries
- Vehicle and pedestrian bridges
- Develop construction drawings in AutoCAD.
- Conduct site visits, assist with condition assessments, and help prepare detailed technical reports.
- Collaborate with civil, geotechnical, surveying, and permitting teams to broaden your technical knowledge and cross-discipline experience.
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for engineers who are just getting started in their careers. Here’s what you need to succeed:
- A BS in Civil Engineering (with structural emphasis) from an ABET-accredited program.
- Passed the FE exam, or plan to take it within 6 months.
- Familiarity with tools like RISA 3D, SAP2000, or AutoCAD is a plus—but not a requirement. We’ll help you learn.
- Some exposure to geotechnical engineering is helpful and considered a plus.
- A collaborative spirit and willingness to learn from experienced mentors.
- Basic understanding of structural principles and interest in design codes, materials, and industry standards.
- Strong communication skills—especially technical writing.
- A desire to grow, take initiative, and contribute to project success.
- Willingness to occasionally travel for fieldwork.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and authorization to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
