Production Manager
Purpose:
The Production Manager provides direction and oversees production of employees enabling them to reach the daily job objectives, quality and productivity goals, while working in a heavy manufacturing union environment.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for daily implementation of production goals and objectives which include:
- Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies and guidelines.
- Associated reporting.
- Responsible for compliance with all quality efforts in production through proper use of work instructions, processes and procedures.
- Controlling costs.
- Delivery of product in a timely manner in accordance with established business plans.
- Providing and maintaining a safe work environment.
- Building and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Production Managers responsible for management and direction of supervisors.
- Focus on management of efforts between maintenance and production.
- Implementing and carrying out production schedules for delivery of product.
- Coordination with other organizations and departments as needed to create a team environment.
Requirements:
- High School diploma required, Bachelor degree is strongly preferred.
- 5 years or more of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is required.
- 5 years or more of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- Metal Fabrication Industry experience.
- Knowledge of the Foundry Industry preferred.
- Union Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
- General understanding of PCs and related software (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
- Must be able to communicate in English for all business / job related transactions.
Schedule:
- Day shift position with some evenings and weekends required.
