Field Machinist (Temporary Contract)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Field Machinist to perform pipe cutting, beveling, and pipe preparation using Wachs split-frame machining equipment. This is a temporary project running August through November.
Candidates must be able to pass a background check. Nuclear power plant experience is preferred, but not required. We offer competitive pay, per diem, and travel pay.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Wachs split-frame pipe cutting and beveling machines.
- Perform pipe cutting, beveling, and preparation to required specifications.
- Inspect equipment and maintain a safe, clean work area.
- Follow all site safety procedures and quality standards.
- Work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Travel to the job site as required.
Qualifications
- Experience operating Wachs split-frame pipe machining equipment preferred.
- Previous field machining or industrial pipe fabrication experience.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Nuclear plant experience is a plus.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to climb ladders safely.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in confined and tight work areas.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
