Extrusion Operator

Job Summary

Entry level exposure to the extrusion function.  Responsible for becoming familiar with the duties of the Machine Operator II along with the duties and responsibilities listed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps the Extrusion Department and equipment clean per SQF procedures and schedules
• Completes all necessary paperwork in a clear and timely fashion
• Advises the Extrusion Supervisor of any quality issues
• Keeps trash boxes in order
• Assists in shipping and receiving
• Cuts cores for production orders, place in cartons marked with size
• Moves completed orders to storage area
• Blends resin mixes as instructed
• Sets up cartons and skids for each line and also for scrap
• Assists in roll changes and packaging of large rolls
• Strings up and blocks in machines
• Puts in gussets and also sets up treaters
• Ensures company policies and procedures are implemented, understood, and followed
• Ensures work activities are performed according to SQF procedures and requirements
• Reports any equipment malfunctions or other abnormal condition to Production Management
• Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area
• Works well in a team environment
• Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Works scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedule
• Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned

Required

• High school diploma or GED

      Preferred

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment

• 1 year blown film extrusion experience
