What are the responsibilities and job description for the Conversion Operator position at PMI Packaging Materials Inc?
The Conversion Machine Operator I is responsible for running various machines and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads film and zipper stock on/off machine
- Performs machine set up and changeovers
- Takes direction from Conversion Supervisor for processing jobs
- Performs material inspections
- Runs customer trials
- Performs machine troubleshooting
- Performs equipment maintenance and minor repairs
- Completes quality control documentation
- Performs material inspection per SQF requirements
- Ensures work areas are in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices
- Ensures work activities are performed according to SQF procedures and requirements
- Reports downtime when assigned to a line
- Reports any equipment malfunctions or other abnormal condition to Production Management
- Maintains a clean, neat, and safe work area
- Works well in a team environment
- Adheres to all Company safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Works scheduled shifts with predictable and reliable attendance, adhering to department schedule
- Performs various special projects and other duties as assigned
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
Preferred
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial work environment
