The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining clean and sanitary kitchenware, utensils, and food service areas to support safe meal service for residents, patients, staff, and guests. This role plays an essential part in infection control and overall kitchen operations in a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities

Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, pots, and pans using dishwashing equipment or by hand

Ensure all kitchenware meets sanitation and health department standards

Clean and maintain dishwashing machines and work areas

Assist with cleaning kitchen surfaces, floors, garbage areas, and storage spaces

Properly handle and dispose of trash and recycling

Follow infection control, food safety, and OSHA guidelines

Assist with basic kitchen tasks as needed (e.g., restocking supplies, setting up meal trays)

Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisor

Work cooperatively with dietary and nursing staff to support meal service schedules

High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
