The Laundry Aide is responsible for ensuring that resident clothing, linens, towels, and facility laundry are properly cleaned, dried, folded, and distributed. This position is essential in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and sanitary environment for our residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing and facility linens.
- Operate washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow established procedures for handling soiled and contaminated linens.
- Label and organize resident clothing to ensure proper delivery.
- Inspect laundry items for damage and report concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintain laundry rooms, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Monitor laundry supplies and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishing.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and OSHA guidelines.
- Assist with inventory and storage of linens and laundry supplies.
- Provide courteous service to residents and staff.
- Assist with housekeeping duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor/Housekeeping Supervisor, or Administrator.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain a professional attitude.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, walking, bending, pushing carts, and reaching throughout the shift.
