SENIOR COST ESTIMATOR - WORK LOCATION: LOS ANGELES, CA

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
- Seven (7) years' experience in cost estimating or contract pricing for major capital projects.
- ASPE and/or AACE International certifications are desirable.
- Lead project-specific estimating teams.
- Compile and analyze cost factors, including materials, labor, equipment, and profit.
- Perform complex cost estimates and analyses for capital and professional services projects.
- Evaluate deliverables for cost containment, accuracy, and completeness.
- Evaluate quotes, bids, change orders, value engineering, and claims for accuracy.
- Acquire and evaluate pricing and historical vendor data.
- Forecast costs for future and ongoing projects.
- Prepare technical reports and present recommendations.
- Develop and implement cost estimation standards and tools for Metro capital budgets and project designs.
- Conduct needs assessments.
- Prepare Independent Cost Estimates for contracts, changes, and claims.
- Provide cost and price analyses of consultant and contractor proposals.
- Review and comment on consultant estimates.
- Support funding validation requests.
- Support Metro audit services with technical analyses.
- Conduct construction market and bidding trend analyses.
- Continuously improve cost estimating functions.
