PMBA Architects is seeking a Director of Architecture to join our growing, wellness‑focused design firm. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a talented, collaborative, and results‑driven architect who is passionate about design excellence, client relationships, and growing a thriving architecture practice.
As a key leader within the firm, the Director of Architecture serves as a client, business, people, and project leader—guiding design teams to create responsive, high‑quality solutions that support client goals and community needs. This role plays a critical part in advancing PMBA’s practice areas through innovation, mentorship, and strategic growth.
What You’ll Do
- Provide strategic and creative leadership for architectural design teams.
- Cultivate and strengthen client relationships while supporting business development and marketing efforts.
- Lead and participate in client interviews, presentations, and design strategies.
- Translate client needs, budgets, and goals into thoughtful, innovative design solutions.
- Oversee design excellence from concept through construction, ensuring alignment with design intent.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
- Guide and mentor team members, interns, and emerging professionals.
- Contribute to firm‑wide strategy, best practices, mentorship, and long‑term growth.
- Stay current on building codes, emerging technologies, trends, and best practices.
What You Bring
- Registered Architect with 15 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Master’s preferred).
- Proven leadership experience guiding teams and complex projects.
- Strong client‑facing skills and the ability to build lasting relationships.
- Healthcare and/or corporate design experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, BIM, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication, presentation, and problem‑solving skills.
- LEED and/or WELL certification preferred.
- An exceptional portfolio demonstrating design excellence and leadership.
