The Role
Own finance for a fast-growing GC/remodeling firm. You’ll run AIA billing, enforce earned-revenue rules (deposits/progress payments held as liabilities until scope is completed), drive cash-flow forecasting, and collect with charm. You’re equally comfortable deep in spreadsheets and on the phone with homeowners and Spanish-speaking subs.
What You’ll Do
- AIA Pay Apps & Compliance: Prepare, submit, and track AIA billing; align milestones with certified work; manage retainage, lien waivers, and closeout.
- Revenue Recognition (U.S. GAAP): Implement policy so revenue is recognized only when earned; maintain deposits/progress payments as unearned revenue until completion; reconcile WIP/%-complete monthly.
- Cash Flow Leadership: Own a rolling 13-week cash flow; forecast materials/labor draws; warn early; propose solutions (AR acceleration, pacing, bridge options).
- Collections with Charisma: Call clients directly; build rapport; secure timely payments without burning relationships; escalate thoughtfully.
- Client Financing Guidance: Educate clients on HELOC/renovation loan options and payment calendars.
- Construction Finance: Job costing, variance analysis, overhead allocation; partner with PMs; protect margins.
- Reporting & Cadence: Daily dashboard (cash, AR/AP, job cash position), weekly WIP/POC update, monthly board pack.
- Bilingual Ops: Communicate in Spanish with subs/vendors on billing, retainage, and releases.
Must-Haves
- Bilingual English/Spanish (professional on phone in both).
- Hands-on AIA billing and WIP / %-of-completion experience.
- Proven collections success with excellent phone presence.
- Built and maintained 13-week cash flow in a project-based business.
- Strong U.S. GAAP familiarity for construction (revenue recognition, liabilities, retainage).
- Time-zone overlap with 9am–6pm ET; daily meeting participation.

Comp (USD): $60k–$95k base DOE up to 15% bonus on KPIs (or $4.5k–$8k/mo retainer KPI bonus).
