What You’ll Do:
The Regional Director of Operations is integral to the seamless day-to-day functioning of the hotel. The Director of Operations is integral to the seamless day-to-day functioning of the hotels in their region. You’ll act as the key contact for the various operations teams in your region. With your leadership and experience, you’ll provide organizational direction to multiple hotels and act as a mentor and teacher to ensure the operations of said hotels are a success.
Clearly, the RDO is not a position for the faint of heart! To learn more about what you’ll be doing on a day-to-day basis, read on:
- Hire key staff including General Managers.
- Monitor progress of staff direct reports to ensure that all standards are met.
- Check-in with key property personnel to ensure that all aspects of the operation are running smoothly and address any areas of immediate concern.
- Conduct a regular, scheduled walk-through of the entire property
- Analyze financial and operating information on an ongoing basis to adjust business plans, labor requirements, and operating costs.
Where You’ve Been:
A bachelor’s degree in hotel management or a related field and at least 5 years of management experience in the hotel industry. You should be able to fluently speak, read and understand English. You should also be familiar with OSHA, local Department of Health regulations and relevant current laws governing the handling of hazardous substances. Most importantly you must be a team player! We’re looking for someone who is willing to step up and aid their team members when needed.
