What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursing Simulation Laboratory/Clinical Placement Coordinator position at Plymouth State University?
This position is responsible for maintaining a well-run simulation lab to assure an optimal learning environment for students in our newly renovated space at Plymouth State University. Responsibilities are varied and require high energy and self-motivation. As a member of the PSU Nursing Team, you will be a Member of the Simulation Lab Committee and the Nursing Program Committee. You will collaborate with other programs for inter-professional lab experiences or lab use. Maintain the lab calendar and work with faculty to design optimal learning strategies for the simulation and skills labs for our undergraduate nursing program.
This position facilitates faculty orientation to the simulation lab and develops Dedicated Lab time in the Simulation Lab that focuses on student learning. Demonstrated strong organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience working with diverse populations. Come work in our newly constructed student focuses simulation lab! We are growing!

$45,790.00 - $81,530.00

Duties/Responsibilities
(40%)
- Scheduling students in the skills and simulation lab.
- Ensure that all required student documentation for lab hours are complete.
- Lab set up sheets and updates done yearly.
- Maintain the EHR in the simulation lab.
- Consults with the clinical course faculty as needed.
- Attend end-of-semester meetings and simulation committee meetings.
- Assist Clinical Placement specialist with BLS and 95 fit testing
- Member of the Simulation Lab Committee and the Nursing Program Committee.
- Collaborate with other programs for inter-professional lab experiences or lab use.
- Maintain the lab calendar
- Work with faculty to design optimal learning strategies for the simulation and skills labs for our undergraduate nursing program.
- Facilitates faculty orientation to the simulation lab
- Develops dedicated Lab time in the Simulation Lab that focuses on student learning.
- Set up and breakdown of skills and simulation labs
- Update Inventory/Supplies list
- Ordering supplies
- Oversee Student workers in the sim lab as they assist with set up and breakdown of the lab space
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
- Educational requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and two years of combined experience in teaching skills and/or experience.
- A Master’s degree is beneficial yet not required.
- Current NH RN license or eligibility is required.
- Experience with clinical undergraduate nursing education preferred.
- Demonstrated strong computer skills, including expertise in data management and in using multiple software packages required.

- Willing to learn new computer programs for the electronic health record and educational components of the program.
