This position will oversee Ellucian Banner Accounts Receivable Module, create required reports using various software platforms, develop, maintain and process fee assessment rules, assist with the student billing process and collaborate with others within our student facing departments.

$47,920.00 - $85,410.00

Job Duties
Student Billing and Fee Assessment Processes
- Develop, maintain, and schedule student fee assessment rules in the Student Information System (SIS).
- Maintain knowledge and awareness of applicable financial aid rules related to disbursement, refunds, and related finance regulations.
- Assist with course fees, the late fee web application, miscellaneous fee applications, prebilling and any other associated work flows that would apply charges to a student’s account.
- Develop, maintain, and process student tax form 1098T and the Canadian tax form TL11A.
- Maintain current knowledge of changing Federal student taxes regulations.
- Set up and organization of detail code and rules that are eligible.
- Answer student and parent questions pertaining to the 1098T and TL11A.
- Solicit SSN information from students for tax purposes.
- Maintain and create reports using current tools (WEBI, MS Access & SQL Developer, etc.) to assist in surveys, analysis for Finance, and daily reporting needs on accounts receivable data.
- Collaborate with other departments to perform report requests.
- Assist with student billing process and Finance to define and create account detail codes as it pertains to student’s accounts, refunds, and financial aid.
- Act as liaison with ET&S regarding application development and maintenance of Student Financial Services applications.
- Ability to analyze and interpret related complex data, and effectively communicate results to director.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable Module: Understand how AR Module interacts with other modules.
- Identify and test system upgrades, patches & releases before authorizing their integration into the production database
- Administer processes within Student Financial Services such as: web applications, student account feeds for finance and collections, Childcare billing, and payment plan processes.
- Represent Student Financial Services at technical meetings, and collaborate with other technical staff within other student facing departments (e.g. Admissions, Res Life and Registrar’s office).
- Continue to work on cleaning and overseeing data as the Data Steward of the AR Module as well as other financial related data in the SIS.
- Assist with email communications and mail merges.
- Prepare, oversee and document process procedures as well as updates, changes and policies.
- In collaboration with ET&S, coordinate department computer replacements/upgrades.
- Work directly with training department personnel in the use of relevant applications based on updated documentation and current processes.
- Cross-training with other Information Technologist on Financial Aid Module, processes and reporting
- Other projects and related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience, Associate’s degree and four years, or combination of education and experience equal to six years.
- Experience in information technology specialty areas as required by employing unit.
- Overall computer literacy and computer skills as required by employing department/unit.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Experience in higher education.
- Project management skills.
