Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipe specifications
- Assist in assembling and plating dishes for service, ensuring presentation standards are met
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, mixers, slicers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain proper sanitation standards throughout the kitchen
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients in accordance with dietary guidelines and special requests
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning routines
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Adhere strictly to recipe instructions and portion control to ensure consistency across all dishes
- Assist with catering events or large-scale meal preparations as needed
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and high-quality food delivery
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven food preparation and cooking experience within a restaurant or food industry setting
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal assembly processes
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Hands-on experience operating commercial kitchen equipment such as slicers, ovens, and mixers
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Experience in catering or large-scale food service environments is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff and other departments
- Demonstrated ability to follow detailed recipes and maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety
