Direct Support Professional (Part-Time)

Salary Range: $22.00 – $25.00 Hourly
About the Role:
Plymouth County Family Support is hiring a Direct Support Professionals to work one-on-one with young adults with developmental disabilities during the week and/or weekends.
As a Direct Support Professional, your goal is to encourage independence and skill-building. You will provide individualized support in home-based and community-based settings, helping individuals strengthen daily living, independent living, and community skills. Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household chores
- Teaching money management and other independent living skills
- Assisting with community activities such as using the library, shopping, navigating public transportation, or participating in fitness, recreation, or volunteer programs
- Providing behavioral support as needed
Who We’re Looking For:
We are seeking dependable, compassionate staff with relevant experience, such as direct support professionals, teachers, paraprofessionals, registered behavior technicians, or college students with strong backgrounds in supporting young adults with developmental disabilities and/or autism.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable, insured vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)
- Strong soft skills: patience, punctuality, empathy, and good judgment
- Experience supporting people with disabilities, including those with behavioral needs
- Education & Experience (must meet one of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (education, psychology, etc.) and at least 2 years of experience working on skill development with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field and at least 3 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- High school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of relevant experience
