We’re seeking an experienced seamstress to join our upholstery shop to sew cushions for sofas and chairs and other furniture. The ideal candidate has hands-on upholstery sewing experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce durable, high-quality work on deadline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sew cushion covers for sofas, chairs, and bench seating using upholstery fabrics (zippers, welting/cording, box/knife edges).
- Read and follow patterns, templates, and production notes.
- Operate industrial sewing machines and maintain basic machine upkeep.
Qualifications:
- 2 years sewing experience in an upholstery shop (cushion sewing strongly preferred).
- Proficient with industrial upholstery sewing machines and techniques (zippers, welting, box/knife seams).
- Inspect finished work for quality and durability; make repairs as needed.
- Collaborate with upholsterers and production staff to meet orders and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and follow shop procedures.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
