Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances in residential and commercial buildings.
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise plumbing layouts.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to assemble and install plumbing components.
- Ensure all work adheres to local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for plumbing installation and repair.
- Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate plumbing tasks with other trades such as carpentry and HVAC systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of plumbing systems on construction sites or in existing structures.
- Operate heavy lifting equipment safely when handling large pipes or materials required for complex installations.
Requirements
- Valid Journeyman's license in any state. Hawaii Journeyman's license to be obtained within 6 months.
- Proven construction experience with a focus on construction plumbing projects.
- Valid journeyman plumber certification or equivalent credential demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of plumbing systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including gas piping systems, schematics reading, pipe threading, and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience with residential and commercial plumbing installations as well as remodeling projects.
- Familiarity with building code compliance, safety regulations, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and field service procedures.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy lifting gear safely and effectively.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to pipe sizing and layout planning.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting plumbing issues on-site.
- Driver's license in good standing
