Commercial Plumbing Manager

PMC is hiring a Commercial Plumbing Manager to lead our growing commercial division. You'll run our commercial projects, lead the field crews, and own the numbers, working directly with the owner and our estimating team. Plumbing & Mechanical Corporation of North Carolina is a family-run plumbing and mechanical contractor in Fuquay-Varina serving the whole Triangle. We're known for custom homes, multi-family, and residential fire sprinkler, and our commercial division has grown steadily on tenant upfits, restaurant and QSR buildouts, medical and dental offices, and ground-up commercial work. PMC holds ASSE 6010 medical gas installer certification, which puts us in a small group of Triangle contractors set up for healthcare work.

What you'll do

• Manage multiple commercial projects at once (tenant upfits, restaurants, medical, ground-up, light industrial) from kickoff through final inspection and closeout
• Build and hold schedules, coordinate manpower and material with foremen, and keep jobs in sequence with the other trades
• Lead and develop the commercial field crews: hiring, training, accountability, and growing foremen into leaders
• Own job cost: track labor and material against the estimate, catch drift early, protect margin
• Handle submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay apps with GCs, and keep job documentation current
• Review plans and specs before mobilization and work with estimating on scope clarifications, VE, and change-order pricing
• Coordinate inspections across Wake, Johnston, Harnett, Durham, Chatham, and surrounding counties
• Enforce safety, quality, and code compliance (NC Plumbing Code; NFPA 99 on med gas jobs)
• Help grow the division through GC relationships, repeat clients, and bid strategy

What you bring

• 7 years in commercial plumbing, including 3 years as a PM, superintendent, or division lead
• A track record of running several commercial jobs at once on schedule and on budget
• Solid knowledge of commercial systems: cast iron and PVC DWV, copper and PEX domestic water, MegaPress and threaded gas, grease and oil interceptors, backflow, water heaters and boilers, roof drains, commercial fixtures
• Confidence reading commercial drawings and specs and dealing with GCs, engineers, and inspectors
• Real experience with job costing, scheduling, submittals, and change orders
• Leadership that earns respect on the jobsite
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Bonus points: NC plumbing contractor license (P-I or P-II), ASSE 6010/6020 medical gas certification, backflow tester certification, OSHA 30, healthcare or restaurant construction experience, construction management software experience
