What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher / Customer Service Rep – Plumbing Service Company position at Plumbing around the clock?
Plumbing Around The Clock is a growing residential and commercial plumbing company serving Broward and the surrounding areas. You're the first voice a customer hears and the last one they talk to before the job closes. You answer the phone, get the customer booked, send the job to the right tech, and follow it all the way through — invoice, payment, and a happy customer on the other end.
This is a full-cycle role. You're not just taking messages — you own the customer's experience from the first ring to the final invoice.
What you'll do
- Answer inbound calls, log every job accurately in our CRM (Workiz)
- Dispatch jobs to the right technician and keep the schedule moving
- Build estimates and invoices, and collect payment on completed jobs
- Handle price objections and explain what's included and why — you're not just quoting, you're closing
- Follow up on estimates that weren't approved and work to close them
- Manage upset or escalated customers and get them to a good outcome
- Follow up with past customers, and sell/manage maintenance memberships
- Keep clear, complete notes on every call and job outcome
Who we're looking for
Required:
- 2 years in a customer service or dispatch role at a home service company (plumbing, HVAC, electrical, generators, roofing, pest control, appliance repair)
- Experience with a field service CRM (Workiz, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Jobber, or similar)
- Comfortable explaining pricing and handling objections — not just taking orders
- Can stay calm and in control on a call with an upset customer
- Comfortable on the phone all day, juggling multiple systems, fast-paced office
- Fluent English, clear and confident on the phone
A strong plus:
- Experience preparing quotes/invoices for big-ticket items (water heaters, AC, generators)
- Experience selling or managing service club / maintenance memberships
- Familiar with Broward / Fort Lauderdale area
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
