Our clients are Ultra High Net Worth Individuals around the United States and some abroad. We are NOT Financial Advisors, and we are NOT a CPA firm, rather, we tend to do all the back-office accounting services, bill payment management and provide our clients and their advisors with reporting and services. We have been in business since 1996.

Job Description – essential functions/core

At Plumb, our Bill Pay Account Manager will as embrace a macro perspective: they analyze problems and develop strategies to resolve issues quickly, track trends to project growth onboard new clients, and manage long-term client relationships.

This role will serve as the central point of contact for all Bill Pay-related matters, ensuring that workflow issues, reporting discrepancies, and escalations are managed directly and efficiently.

The role is based in the San Diego office and requires a strong operational background. The ideal candidate must understand components of Bill Pay, including workflows, approvals, reconciliations, and application processes. You must be detail-oriented, process-driven, and capable of identifying and resolving issues before they escalate.

The person in this position must have prior experience managing a team of 4 to 8 employees and be able to drive results through structure, communication, and process ownership. They should demonstrate the ability to maintain accountability across multiple clients and team members without the need for constant supervision.

Client and advisor communication is critical. This person must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in all interactions, providing factual updates and resolution summaries that instill confidence in both internal teams and external partners.

Trust and reliability are a must This person will be expected to take ownership of assigned areas and handle operational issues independently while escalating appropriately when leadership involvement or client relationship management is required.




Skillsets and Recommended Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who can handle the managerial aspects of getting the job done while streamlining processes to ensure profitability and the growth of your team going forward. Here are the primary skillsets and characteristics a successful candidate will possess:

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in accounting operations, bill pay management, or family office accounting
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and multi-client environments
  • Familiarity with compliance, reconciliation, and audit processes
  • Demonstrated success managing teams and improving workflows
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and ability to be a task master if/when necessary.
  • Very good communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills working with various office equipment, computers and programs including databases, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
