Duties

  • Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments of pediatric patients, including vital signs, physical examinations, and developmental evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and behavioral health issues specific to children.
  • Develop personalized care plans, including immunizations, health screenings, and preventive care strategies aligned with current guidelines.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems: EMR platforms to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
  • Coordinate with specialists in fields such as neonatology, cardiology, endocrinology, psychiatry, or ophthalmology when specialized intervention is required.
  • Provide health education and counseling to patients’ families on topics like nutrition, safety, developmental milestones, and chronic disease management.
  • Manage inpatient pediatric cases in hospital or Level I trauma center settings, ensuring continuity of care during hospitalization or emergency situations.

Skills

  • Proven experience with pediatric clinical procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of pediatric physiology, growth patterns, immunizations, and disease prevention strategies.
  • Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools such as medical imaging (CT scans), laboratory testing (pathology), and diagnostic radiology relevant to pediatrics.
  • Proficiency in using EMR systems for patient documentation and clinical research purposes.
  • Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly to children and their families.
